I did two pieces out of 12 so far for my concentration for college. My topic is brainwash and I made these two.
“Independence” and “Lost Innocence”
“Independence”
-This represents how people, and the world is always trying to oppress you, that no matter what someone and everyone has to be the same, and has to be better, stronger than you, and can’t be the same as you. Especially with racism, they all try to become one. But there is always one who stands up and fights for what they believe in.
The little Muslim man represents independence, that only one person can make a huge change in our society. While the riot patrol all around only listen to what they are told and follow each other so they can never be different, and never make a mistake.
“Lost Innocence”
-This piece represents on how the media can brainwash. As you can see, the mind is brainwashed by the pattern of the television colored bars, she is corrupted, the giant missing heart is because she lost her soul and love for herself and respect, she lost it all to brainwash, this she is crying. The flower pedals falling off is because as she slowly gets consumed by media, she is slowly dying away, thus the skeleton in the middle of the flower. (Also the brands mascot)
